Jiu jitsu-An introduction:
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has it's origin in Japanese martial arts. This is a combat sport. It mainly focuses on grappling and ground fighting. This is now very popular now-a-days. Meaning of self defense:

For learning this sport properly, one needs to obtain a proper training from an instructor. Every instruction should be followed. During a match, a time may come when the other player is being defeated, it should not be treated as a weakness. He is expected to be calm and should not be reason for disturbing others. Fighters have to use clean clothes. When the player is defeated, he should take the initiative to congratulate the winner. This is a very good gesture, indeed.
The journey from the beginner to the master
For a beginner, it is a bit tough. But as you practice more with full strength and devotion, you can see yourself getting better and better. You may see videos of these matches. This will educate you regarding what it's like a real match. Practicing regularly is surely the best way to succeed in anything. All one has to do is stick to the schedule and give a time of 3-4 months. It is a key to improvement.
